"I'm a faculty member in the Computer Science Department at UVa, doing research in Computer Graphics. In my former life, I was a member of the computer graphics group at Stanford.
"My research mainly concerns scalable rendering using commodity technology, although I've been known to work on programming GPU's to do amazing things, and also think about what happens to big matrices when little things change. If pressed, I'll also admit to dabbling in software reverse engineering.
"When I'm not living the life of the mind, I like to play tournament bridge, take pictures of things, hit golf balls, travel, and pretend I know how to cook."
